PRIVATE GAMES

NEW to the Nuts Poker League are private games designed for players who wish to run their own Nuts Poker League Event from home (or anywhere).  For more information on these events please email rich@thenutspokerleague.com for more information.

ID Requirements for Regional Finals and Champions of Champions

All players at Regional Finals and Champion of Champions will be required to show photo ID to both proove that players are 18 years old and are indeed who they say they are. Nuts poker league agents (including myself) can verify the identy of players on the day, however, any players looking under the age of 21 will have to show me ID otherwise they will not be allowed to participate regardless if an agent can verify there identity.

Rules for Under 18's players (for ALL Nuts Poker League events)

Under 18's can participate provided the venue Licensee is fine with this. However they must not get involved with any cash staked games. Also if a player is going to be under 18's at the time of the Regional Final they receive only the basic 50 points regardless of their finishing position.

This rule is to prevent players who will not be 18 by the date of the next regional finals and therefore cannot legally take part taking qualifying places. Please ensure that your TD is both aware and implementing this. Any further questions please email rich@thenutspokerleague.com.

Are your results updated the next day? No, then get on to your TD/agent to sort it out as they should be! If they are not doing it then please email me so that I can go the the people in question with complaints from players to ensure that this STOPS happenning as I am personally sick of it.

  Deeside and Chester Autumn 2010 Regional Final

Only players who have finished above the red line for the Summer 2010 season in Deeside and Chester. Photo ID will be required unless your identity can be verified by a Nuts Poker League agent.  ID will be required on registration.

The food van will be available throughout the afternoon for players and guests.

Please note than no under 18's are allowed at this venue on the day!

Blinds (antes in brackets) are 20 minutes, with a 10 minute break every hour:

What are Antes?

The stake that each poker player must put into the pool before receiving a hand or before receiving new cards.

Why are we using Antes?

Antes are used in larger poker tournaments structures as set out by the poker tournament directors association.  It encourages more action as there are more chips in play every hand.  The National Finals now use antes so they are now being introduced at our regional finals also, but at a gentle rate comparatively (maximum 1/12th of the big blind and capped at a 1,000).

(The blind level of 500/1000 has been re-introduced to the regional final to accommodate the structure)

Procedure for Antes

Players must put their antes in front of them before each hand is dealt.  Once all antes are present, the chips are placed in the centre of the table and cards can be dealt.  All players on the table must post their ante before blinds can be posted.

When placing the antes players must always put the EXACT amount down.  If you do not have the exact change, players must change chips with another player on the table and not take change from the antes posted by other players.
(It should be noted that players should get change when placing blinds or calling a bet if they do not have the exact amount to make it easier for everyone.  This prevents mistakes in people thinking that the bet has been raised).

There are seats available for the National Final in November (number of seats announced 03/10/10).  Only the winners of each pub and the 16 highest finishers in the overall league (minus the pub winners)  have qualified for this tournament.

SUMMER 2010 OVERALL LEAGUE WINNER

Greame Hunter

Congratulations to Greame Hunter who finished only 420 points ahead of second place Jon 'Stuffy Borroks' Milsom.  Janet was a clear winner!  Alex Morini was only 900 points behind second place playing less games with Chris 'A Nightmare on 5th Street' Shaw finishing 4th with an even better average than those above him.

DEESIDE AND CHESTER/NORTH WEST WALES SUMMER 2010 REGIONAL FINAL RESULTS

This seasons regional final was a combined Deeside and Chester and North West Wales regional final.  Antes were used for the first time which worked well on the whole, but it was the players from North West Wales which took the major spiols on the day finishing with a 1,2 3 finish.  Congratulations to all the players who have qualified for the National Finals and won cash prizes on the say.  The prize fund totalled £1,040 on the day!

Congratulations to Gary Williams who won £350 beating a field of 138 players.  The top 14 finishers qualified for the National Finals in November 2010, with the top 12 players winning cash.

This summers 2010 Champion of Champions started with 25 players with 3 seats through to the National Finals and £100 in fixed prizes for 1st (£50), 2nd (£30) and 3rd (£20).  Alex Morini narrowley missed out when is winning two pair on the flop was counterfitted by an ace to give Kevin Hindley a higher two pair to leave him in forth place.  Thanks to everyone who attended for a good afternoons poker.

Deeside and Chester May 2010 National Final Update

Congratulations to John Power (McLean's, Pentre), Nathan Brearley (White Lion, Buckley) and Nick France (Grace Arms, Ellesmere Port who finished 2nd, 3rd and 4th in the May 2010 National Finals winning a cool £1,700, £1,000 and £800 respectively.
